Well we made it back. The laundry and mail are all caught up. Now back to work on Monday to deal with the !@#$ there. There were at least two incidents while I was on vacation. The administration is seeing it as no big deal, but I am feeling EXTREMELY threatened. Have to deal with it but everytime I think of it I get angry. Father told me today when I went to confession that in the future perhaps I should deal with things before they reach the boiling point, but how do you deal with an elephant with a doily on it that appears to be visible only to you. The others that do see it seem content to simply adjust the doily. I love my place of employment. It is the best place that I have ever worked and most of the time I can deal with the well decorated elephant, but this time it has hit close to home. Please pray that I will handle this in a professional manner. I have already screwed up and displayed some very unprofessional behavior in front of my staff. Those of you reading this, I am sorry for that. It takes a lot to get me angry and even more for me to get to that stage. I hope that I don't have to show you that side of me very often. Really honest, I am not mentally deranged......at least very often. HA!

Day 6

We are going to finish up tomorrow. I will go to mass tomorrow night and then we will leave Sunday morning. We plan on going through KY and TN to say that we have been there. We plan to go to Sis and Cliff's and spend the night. Then home to dry hot KS and our grandbaby, our three kids and the stuff and friends at work. This has been fun but I am worried about the money we are spending and am ready to sleep in my own bed. Guess I am a little homesick. Well it is time for me to learn of the "finer things" in life. I am going to watch Stargate Atlantis with Ruthie. I have sort of listened to them for awhile. I guess I have become an enabler in her addiction. HA!

See you all soon.

Day 5

Not much to report. Did find the probate records of my gg grandfather Cox. That is the g father of my g grandma Rachel Cox Reynolds. He died when she was very little. Her mother died when she was only a few years older. Then she married her first husband at 14. Awful young, but it was done back then. Get em raised and get em out of here, especially when they were shipped out to all of the relatives that already had big families. That husband died at Andersonville. She married g grandpa George after the war. She was his fourth wife. He had one die in childbirth, one died young and another we are still trying to track down. He had kids with each of his wives, ending up with about 14 or 15 kids total.

Had to buy some more clothes as we had run out of "necessities". Wal-Mart had an even lower selection than Parsons. At least I am semi decently clothed. Then went to our cemetery of the day. The Cox cemetery consists of two rows of stones in between two houses in the country. Was scared to death by a very friendly Lab. Not vicious, just walked up behind me and I didn't hear or see him til I turned around. Then had Mexican for supper. VERY GOOD! Had different than the usual Mexican fare.

Heard from the college of other things that need done. Reports not done right, bookdrop is not being set.....Lord knows what is piling up in my chair and onto my desk to deal with. Guess I need to coordinate my vacation better, especially with my boss. Or better yet, just not take a vacation, since the college "owns me." Oh well, off to the library. Going to see where we are today, then may head home through AR this weekend.
